for rent
This stunning, spacious, detached five bedroom Kalkan villa offers beautiful, well equipped, contemporary accommodation of a high standard for ten guests with the most magnificent views over Kalkan Bay.

But it's not just the accommodation that makes Apex Villa so special, its desirable location on a quiet side street in the heart of the old town means it could not be in a better position for those seeking the privacy of their own Villa, yet with the atmosphere and amenities of Kalkan's old town on your doorstep.

This elegant, spacious Kalkan villa is beautifully furnished; the modern kitchen is fully fitted with the latest appliances and is equipped with all you need to prepare a feast. The large open plan living/dining area is light and spacious, offering plenty of room for guests to relax and the space connects beautifully with the terraces, swimming pool and Jacuzzi beyond. All five bedrooms are comfortably appointed in a beautiful contemporary style, with en-suite facilities and balconies offering spectacular views over the bay.

Stairs lead to the first floor and two bedrooms; a double bedroom suite and a twin bedroom (beds can be pushed together if required). The second floor comprises two further bedrooms a double and a twin. On the 3rd floor is another well-appointed twin bedroom with doors out to the roof terrace with stunning views over the old town and Mediterranean. All bedrooms have balconies, en-suite facilities and are equipped with hairdryers.

Villa Apex offers several outside spaces, and there is a lovely furnished roof terrace with panoramic views over Kalkan Bay, old town and harbour. The shaded terrace by the pool offers the opportunity to enjoy shady spots for alfresco dining or just reading a book and enjoying the stunning views. The Villa is south facing and the private freshwater pool and Jacuzzi enjoy plenty of sunshine.

Next door is another contemporary five bedroom detached villa, Villa Pax, which is also part of our collection. Both Kalkan villas offer their own privacy and private pools but offer larger groups the ideal opportunity to holiday together.

The Turkish Mediterranean Coast region

Turkey's Mediterranean shore, called the Turquoise Coast, is nearly 1600 km (994 miles) long, scattered with fine-sand beaches and sprinkled abundantly with classical cities turned to picturesque ruins.

It has more and better beaches and resorts than does the Aegean coast, and warmer, saltier water than the Black Sea coast.. The Taurus (Toros) Mountains form a dramatic backdrop along much of the coast, often dropping steeply right into the sea, but in some places rivers have washed down enough sediment over the ages to form beaches backed by fertile alluvial plains good for growing cotton, vegetables, and even tropical fruits like bananas.

Southwest Turkey, along and inland from the popular "Turquoise Coast", was home to the ancient Lycians who were one of the most enigmatic people of antiquity. Although little historical record has been left behind them, what has been discovered reveals a fascinating people culturally distinct from the rest of the ancient world. Around twenty major sites remain today with the Lycians' unusual funerary architecture dominating the breathtaking unspoiled land of Lycia.

Kalkan

Kalkan is an elegant harbour town set in the heart of the old Lycian region. It is cosmopolitan, with wonderful restaurants and great places to stay. The Taurus Mountains provide a stunning backdrop, whilst the views across the bay are remarkable

This beautiful and sophisticated bougainvillea-covered harbour town is set in a breathtaking landscape in the heart of the Turquoise Coast.

Tourism is still relatively new in Kalkan, with the first visitors being yachtsmen who discovered the delights of the harbor and the town in the late 1980's.Strict conservation laws have ensured that the heart of the old village retains an authentic ambience that attracts (according to the Sunday Times) the sort of visitor who might also be enchanted by, say, Tuscany or the Dordogne. The result is a discerning mix of predominantly British guests together with Istanbul Turks attracted by Kalkan's reputation within Turkey.

Winding cobbled streets, colourful shops and excellent harbour-side or roof terrace restaurants and bars are combined with stunning views – whether you are looking up to the dramatic Toros mountains behind the town, or down across the harbour to the broad sweep of the Mediterranean.
